Professor Dr. István László Gál Appointed Honorary Doctor by Chinese University

Prof. Dr. István László Gál, university professor of the Faculty of Law, University of Pécs and Head of the Department of Criminal Law has been awarded the title Doctor Honoris Causa by the Chinese Southeast University Law School.

Dr. István László Gál is an internationally recognized researcher in the field of economic criminal law as well as a practising lawyer. At the award ceremony, on receipt of the doctoral certificate he stated that he had been nurturing relations with Chinese colleagues and Professor Wei Changdong, in particular, for more than a decade. He added that it caused him a great pleasure to become Professor Honoris Causa of Southeast University, which was a great honour also because the University and its Law School, in particular, constituted one of the most prestigious research hubs of the People’s Republic of China.
