The Campus Legal Aid Clinic (CLAC) is organized for, educational, scientific and charitable purposes specifically:
- to foster the expansion and improvement of clinical legal education in Hungary and other European Countries;
- integrate clinical teaching and extend its methods into the legal education program of the interested universities who are ready to use it;
- promotes a scholarly and discipline specific approach to the innovation and reform of learning and teaching
- to fund and support research into legal education pedagogy and effective practice.
- to work cooperatively with other organizations interested in clinical education, the improvement of legal education;
- disseminate information to and among clinical educators;
to promote and conduct educational activities, conferences designed to facilitate clinical educational purposes of the organization.
What Does the Clinic Aim?
It aims to build a teaching method in law, based on experiential learning, which develops not only knowledge but also skills and values that simultaneously promote social justice. We decided to use practice-oriented, student-centered, and problem-based interactive learning methodologies. Practical work for students is centered around taking on the real cases of clients under the supervision of academics and professionals.
The courses explicitly designed to introduce students to the theory and practice of professional lawyering skills. Professional skills are those skills generally regarded as necessary for effective, responsible and reflective participation in the legal profession. Professional skills include legal research and professional writing skills, counseling skills, interviewing skills, litigation skills, transactional skills, negotiation skills, mediation skills, legal drafting skills, legal problem solving skills, legislative drafting skills, ethical lawyering skills, and other legal practice skills. Professional skills courses teach these skills in multiple ways, but always include using experiential learning techniques, including actual or simulated client representation.
Our Practical Approach
Our approach is a practical one: our aim is to teach students the skills they need to practice law at a high level. To that end, the program provides the students with an opportunity to work on challenging assignments, get extensive written feedback, and receive hands-on research instruction.

We think that our mission, objectives and strategy are clear, transparent and socially comprehensible: the practical education of law students and the provision of free of charge legal assistance to the students people.
Close Cooperation
We would like initiate close cooperation with organizations like PILnet, Columbia Law School, and the European Network for Clinical Legal Education and others who promote in Central Europe that legal education method which dedicated both to the objectives of serving others honestly, competently, and responsibly, and to the goals of improving fairness and the quality of justice in the legal system.
Cooperating Institutions
We corporate several legal institutions ranging from Government office of Baranya County , General Court of Baranya County, Court of Appeal of Baranya County to Public Prosecutor's office.
The member of legal clinic can take part in their works and they can spend their term of apprentice.
Judges of General Court and Court of Appeal provide supervision in those cases, which the students give legal advices for client .These courts can be visited by the students and after the trial the judge and students speak about the case and the decision.
Students can follow the mediator and the probation officer ,while they are working in real cases in the Government office , So Student get experiences from those procedures.
In Public Prosecutor’s office , members of legal clinic take part in complaint day , when the clients interested in their cases or they press charges against someone.
The SBLC is a prime example of how students are enriching the law school experience beyond the classroom providing clients with affordable quality legal services in keeping with clinic’s commitment to serving the local community.
The students learn dealing with single but multifaceted clients, getting information on a mixture of legal and business responsibilities which require a broad set of skills i.e. serving as an officer in the corporation and assist making business decisions.
What kind of areas of substantive law will be exposed to the students?
Corporate issues, financial services, sales of goods and international trade, intellectual property, patent, ICT, and other relevant subjects. Different areas of the law are practiced in unique ways. Clinic students learn substantive law under the guidance of their field supervisor and with the added depth of applying the law to real life issues. Students learn with guidance from faculty and field supervisors, how the area of the law is practiced, and ethical obligations unique to the practice area, and skills necessary of doing practice.
Clinicians help, guide, evaluate the students’ experiences by using real life cases dealing with SBLC, providing subjects of reflection for class presentations or dialogue among students, faculty supervisors, and field supervisors.
It will help students relate their academic experience to their experience and will contribute significantly to desired educational outcomes.
The role of the lawyer representing an entrepreneur or dealing with financial related cases, advocating his/her interest can be demanding, ranging from negotiating contracts, financial planning, marketing and public relations.
Among other lawyering skills, students will be familiar with asking opinion and working with financial experts, economists, marketing practitioners on legal related issues. Clinical students provide written legal advice to clients under supervision from faculty members, qualified lawyers who aware of Legal Clinic Standards, Deontological Code and the Information Form.
The experiences that students have at SBLC, however, may help them obtain a job in the business world precisely because it exposes them to experiences that are similar to the work they seek after graduation. The result is twofold, we get new talented people with skills related business field and help them getting new and appropriate job in the marketplace.
SBLC is committed to fostering talks on various areas of law and business to start-up companies and entrepreneurs particularly in close collaboration with other related fields professionals and faculty members i.e. University Faculty of Business and Economics, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Enterprise Europe Network and other business related organizations.
We are convinced that SBLC is a unique 21st century educational form for getting closer theory and practice, education and real life business fostering the society well-being as a whole.
The CLAC (Campus Legal Aid Clinic) was launched in 2015 in order to deepen the academic knowledge of law students at the same time it provides professional and monitored legal advice in the follow-up questions to the students of PTE.
In the past years, a number of foreign students have turned to the law clinic for legal advice. In a personal meeting they can consult their legal problem with selected law students. Then they get a supervised legal advice by professor of law. This piece of advice and possible solutions are introduced and explained by the law students to the client.
There is a possibility to give legal advice and carry out consultancy in both English and German languages.

The Competency Clinic, by being a complex system that utilizes the results of clinical education using the theoretical knowledge already acquired during the academic training by the students in real working environments, in teams with the help of practitioners of various but interrelated professions under the guidance of tutors with knowledge on the related know-how, educates students on a project basis. The course’s purpose is to help the students to acquire the proper knowledge and improve the skills required to work in their future profession. Thus, after completing the course, the student will be able to apply the knowledge acquired during the university studies within their given working environments. The training simultaneously helps to understand the methodology of the acquisition of the knowledge one needs in practice, to understand the learning process and assists in selecting the best method for the student. Vocation oriented, student-centred, problem-solving, interactive teaching-learning method.
