Call for Abstracts - International & EU Law Horizons Conference

The Centre for European Research and Education (CEREE) at the Faculty of Law, University of Pécs, invites submissions for the International & EU Law Horizons Conference, a regional academic forum bringing together scholars from Central and Eastern Europe and beyond. The event aims to foster dialogue on key developments in international law and EU law, with a strong focus on emerging legal challenges and cross-border cooperation. The conference particularly welcomes the participation of early-career researchers and PhD candidates.
    
A keynote lecture will be delivered on the topic of the protection of national minority rights in practice.


Conference Themes

We invite abstracts of up to 500 words addressing one or more of the following exemplificative areas with a possibility of special attention to the Central-Eastern Europe:
-    Human rights in practice and theory
-    National minority rights and their status
-    Law of modern armed conflicts
-    Judicial cooperation in criminal matters in the EU
-    Legal challenges of outer space: international and EU law perspectives
-    Legal challenges of the use of new technologies (AI and more): international and EU law perspectives

 

Publication Opportunity

Selected papers will be published in a special issue of the Pécs Journal of International and European Law, indexed in DOAJ, Ulrichsweb, and HeinOnline.

Venue: Faculty of Law, University of Pécs (PTE ÁJK), 48-as tér 1., Pécs, Hungary
Participation fee: 100 EUR (payable only after abstract acceptance) Please note, that travel and accommodation costs are borne by participants.
Deadline for abstract submission: 15 January 2026
